Q: Find the value of current through 5k Ω resistance in the given circuit.
Solution:
We have to calculate current through 5kΩ resistor.
The current might divide at point A but because of short circuit no current will pass through 4kΩ resistor and all of current will be appear at node B.
At node B the current divides into two parts. Therefore the current through 6kΩ resistor will be
I = 12k/ (12k+6k) x12A
= (12k/18k) x 12 = 8A
At node C the current again discover a short circuit all current will pass through it therefore no current will pass by resistor of 5kΩ.
