Material Toughness Test:

Indication of toughness is associative and applicable  just to cases including exactly these categories of sample and method of loading. A sample of a different shape would yield a whole different result. Notches confine the deformation to a little volume of metal which decreases toughness. Within effect, it is the shape of the metal further to the material composition which determines the toughness of the material.
