The Appraisal Interviews
The post appraisal interview is necessary part of the performance appraisal system. The worker gets helpful feedback information regarding how efficiently and effectively he is able to discharge the assigned duties. It also gives the chance to the worker to explain his views regarding the ratings, rating methods, standards, internal and external causes for low level of performance. The appraiser obtains a chance to describe the employee his traits, rating and behaviours he has taken into account for appraisal, etc. He may utilise this probability to offer constructive recommendation, and help, guide and coach the worker for his advancement. The post appraisal interview providehelps both of the parties to review standards, and set up new standards depend on the experience gained. Thus it serves to meet the following objectives:
1) to allow employees know where they stand for;
2) to help worker do a better job by clarifying what is expected of them;
3) to plan chance for development & growth;
4) to strengthen the superior-subordinate working relationship by making a mutual agreement of goals;
5) to provide chance for workers to express themselves on performance- associated issues.
