JOB EVALUATION
Job evaluation is a systematic way of finding the value of a job in relation to other jobs in an organisation. It attempts to make a systematic comparison among jobs to assess their associative worth for the cause of establishing a rational pay structure.
Job evaluation has to be differentiated from job analysis. Job analysis is a systematic process of gathering information regarding a job. Every job evaluation method needs at least some basic job analysis to provide factual information regarding the jobs concerned. Therefore, job evaluation start with job analysis and ends at that point where the value of a job is ascertained for attaining pay-equity among jobs.
