Until around 1900, there were esteemed people who refused to consider the atomic theory of matter. Nowadays, though, practically everyone accepts it. The atomic theory describes the behavior of matter better than any other format. Some people still think that matter is continuous; some folks still believe that our planet Earth is as well flat.

Ultimately, scientists specified 92 various kinds of basic substances in nature and termed them elements. Afterward, more elements were made artificially. This procedure of discovery is still going on. Using machines termed as particle accelerators, at times known as atom smashers, nuclear physicists have made-up human-made elements which cannot exist in nature, at least not under circumstances similar to anything we would visualize as normal.
