Product Design:

Product design itself lies at the heart of all of the production decisions. The design characteristics of the product shall affect the way of production system so the products should be designed carefully and operated in proper sequence. For instance, the materials used in a product shall affect the type of machining performed, adjusting of production equipment, assembling of product by the employees, etc. Considerations of production implications at the time of designing enable a firm to produce a higher quality product at a lower cost.
