Absorbing Species:

As discussed above, the UV-VIS spectra arise because of electronic transitions in the absorbing species. An electronic transition does not occur in all the species while a radiation in UV region is passed by the sample. Commonly three kinds of species display the mentioned transitions, these are inorganic, organic and complexes created through change transfer.  Now let us learn about these species and the nature of the transitions included in them.
