Job Instruction Training (JIT)

The JIT method (it is developed during World War II) is a four-step instructional procedure involving, presentation, preparation, performance try out and follow up. It is utilized primarily to teach employee how to do their present jobs. A supervisor, trainer or co-worker behaves as the coach. The four steps included in the JIT methods are following:

  1. The trainees obtain an overview of the job, its purpose and its wanted outcomes, with a apparent focus on the relevance of training.
  2. The trainer demonstrates the job to provide the worker a model to copy. The trainer indicates a right way to handle the job.
  3. Next, the worker is permitted to copy the trainer's way. Demonstrations through the trainer and practice through the trainee are repeated until the trainee masters in the right way to handle the job.
  4. At last, the worker does the job independently without supervision.
