General Functions of Central Maintenance Group

Following are the general functions of central maintenance group :

• Planning for maintenance and overhaul schedules in consultation with the plant maintenance group and Works Management.
• To carry out all heavy repairs and major overhauls.
• Operation and Maintenance of the central services.
• Planning for spare parts, maintenance material and tools.
• Planning for manpower and their training.
• Preparation for Annual Maintenance Budget and periodical review.
• Recommendation on replacement policy and additional purchase policy.
• Study of defect reports, suggested modifications, suggestions, etc. and making recommendations.
• Surprise inspection to cross check that maintenance at site, carried out as per directions lay down.
