Law of Multiple Proportions:
This law states which if two elements join to form more than one compound, the masses of one of the component combining along with a fixed mass of the other are inside a simple ratio to one another. For instance, carbon forms two general compounds along with oxygen; carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Along With carbon monoxide (CO), 1.33 grams of oxygen are joining with 1 gram of carbon. Within carbon dioxide (CO2), 2.67 grams of oxygen are merged along with 1 gram of carbon. Thus, the masses of oxygen combining along with a fixed mass of carbon are in the ratio 2:1.
