Neuroimaging
Neuroimaging involves the use of several methods to either directly or indirectly image the function, structure or pharmacology of the brain. It is an associatively new discipline within medicine and psychology or neuroscience. Physicians who specialize in the interpretation and performance of neuroimaging in the clinical setting are neuroradiologists.Neuroimaging chase a neurological examination in that a physician has found cause to more deeply investigate a patient who has or may have a neurological disorder.
One of the more general neurological problems that a person may experience is simple syncope. In cases of simple syncope in that the patient's history does not suggest other neurological symptoms specialty professional organizations do not recommend routine neurological imaging along with the neurological examination to attempt a diagnosis because the likelihood of finding a cause in the central nervous system is extremely low and the patient is unlikely to advantage from the procedure
