Field review method
Where subjective performance measures are utilized, there is possibility for rater's biases influencing the evaluation procedure. To avoid this, some of the employees use the field review method. In this system, a trained &skilled representative of the HR department goes into the 'field' and assists line supervisors by their ratings of their respective subordinates. The HR specialist requests from the instant supervisor specific information regarding the employee's performance. Depend on this information; the experts set up a report which is sent to the supervisor for review, modification, approval and discussion with the workers who is being rated. The ratings are completed on standardised forms.
