Genomes
The Genomes are more than the sum of an organism's genes and have traits which may be studied and measured without reference to the details of any particular genes and their products.
Life is specified through genomes. Each organism including humans has a genome which contains all of the biological information required to build and maintain a living example of that organism. Biological information contained in a genome is encoded in its deoxyribonucleic acid DNA and is separate into discrete units called genes. The Gene’s code for proteins that attach to the genome at the appropriate positions and switch on a series of reactions called gene expression.

In modern molecular genetics and biology the genome is the entirety of an organism's hereditary information. This is encoded either in DNA or for many types of virus in RNA. Both the genes and the non-coding sequences of the DNA or RNA.
