Harmful effects of fungi to humans
A number of yeasts and moulds cause human and animal diseases. For instance, species of Fusarium, Aspergillus and Sporothrix are opportunistic pathogens and simply infect individuals with weak immune systems.A number of other moulds are well recognized causes of allergic reactions. The well known of these toxins is aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is commonly produced through some species of Aspergillus like as Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasitica. An Aflatoxin is a powerful trigger of cancer for example it is carcinogenic.
