The questionnaire is an extensively used method of analysing jobs and work. Here the job holders are given a correctly designed questionnaire aimed at eliciting related job-related information. After finishing, the questionnaires are handed to supervisors. The supervisors may seek further clarifications on several items by talking directly to the job holders. After everything is finalised, the data is provided to the job analyst.
The success of the method based on various factors. The structured questionnaire ought to cover all job related tasks and behaviours. Each of the task or behaviour should be explained in terms of features such as, difficulty, importance, relationship, frequency to entire performance, etc. The job holders should be asked to correctly rate the various job factors and communicate the similar on paper. The participants may complete the items leisurely. However designing questionnaires is not a simple task.
