Career functions

Career functions are those aspects of the relationship that improve career advancement. These include following:

1. Sponsorship:  Where actively mentors recommend a junior person (called 'mentee') for promotions or wanted positions.
2. Exposure and visibility: Where mentors offer chance for mentees to interact with senior executives, demonstrate their ability and utilize their potential.
3. Coaching: Mentors help mentees to investigate how they are doing their work and to define or redefine their aspiration. Now mentors offer practical suggestion on how to complete objectives and attain recognition from others.
4. Protection: Mentors shield the junior person from negative situations/seniors.
5. Challenging assignments: Mentors help mentees build up necessary competencies through challenging job assignments and suitable feedback. Mentors make opportunities for their clients to prove their worth to demonstrate obviously what they need to offer.
