Refrigeration
Refrigeration is the procedure of maintaining a body, or a region in space, at a temperature lower than the local surroundings temperature. Therefore, refrigeration needs the continuous transfer of heat from the body, or the region, to be ‘refrigerated’ to the surroundings at a comparatively high temperature. Though, this is not the only technique available for offering refrigeration. There are numerous other techniques used in practice. The most generally used techniques are as follows:
(a) Vapor Compression Refrigeration System,
(b) Gas Compression Refrigeration System,
(c) Vapor Absorption Refrigeration, and
(d) Steam Jet Refrigeration System.
