Positioning the Work Units at Each Station

For operations of processing, the work unit should be positioned in an identified location and orientation in the production machine concern to the work-head or tooling that executes the operation. Positioning in the production equipment is frequently accomplished using a work-holder such accurately locates, clamps, and orients the part for the operation. Common work-holder utilized is jigs, chucks, and fixtures.
