Smart targeting supports companies to be more effective and efficient by focusing on the segments that they may satisfy best and most profitably. Targeting benefits consumers-companies reach definite groups of consumers having offers carefully tailored to satisfy their needs also. Yet, target marketing sometimes produce controversy and concern. Issues typically involve the targeting of disadvantaged or vulnerable consumers with potentially or controversial harmful products. In market targeting, the issue is not actually who is targeted but instead how and for what. when marketers attempt controversies arise to profit at the expense of targeted segments-while they unfairly target vulnerable segments or target them having questionable products or tactics.
