Moulding Materials:

In casting procedure the molten metal is poured into a mould cavity. So suitability of a casting operation based on the selection of suitable moulding procedure and mould material.

Appropriateness of a moulding material based upon the kind of material being poured, number of castings being made, the kind of casting, quality need by the customer and at last on the mould and core building equipment owned by the foundry.

Moulds might be made of number of moulding materials as metal, sand waxes etc. Even the properties of the above indicated few fundamental materials and other moulding materials might be altered by adding different kinds of additives.
