Hot Pressing Assignment Help

Assignment Help: >> Manufacturing Methods Of Ceramics - Hot Pressing

Hot Pressing

Hot pressing requires application of pressure throughout sintering. In common understanding hot pressing consists in applying a unidirectional pressure by the help of a plunge upon a material contained in a rigid container. On the other hand, hydrostatic pressure (that means pressure in all three directions) might be applied upon the material contained in a membrane. Simultaneously the material is heated. Hot pressing by both the methods produces refractory ceramic of high density & better quality. It is also a method that requires less time. This method is more costly than sintering and component shapes are restricted.
