In shear = π/4 × (21.5)² ×100 = 36305 N

In bearing on 10 mm plate = 21.5 × 12 × 300 = 77400 N

In bearing on 8 mm plate = 21.5 × 8 × 300 = 51600 N

Taking the least of these, the rivet value (R) = 36305 N

Number of rivets needs to connect main member along with gusset plate

= 186750/36305 = 5.1 (say 6 rivets)

Number of rivets needs to connect main member angle with lug angle

= (1.4 ×105000)/36305 = (147000/36305) = 4 rivets

Number of rivets needs to connect lug angle with gusset plate

= (1.2 ×105000)/36305 = 3.5 (say 4 rivets)
