Exponential Forms:
In engineering practice exponential dependence of variables are quite common. A typical instance is y = bxm. On a log-log plot the slope of the straight line through the points is m and the intercept at x = 1 describe b. A more general representation is
y = b + a xm.
The steps involved in the calculation of a, b and m are following :
(i) Calculate the value of b.
(ii) Assess m by a log-log plot of y - b versus x.
(iii) By using m from step (ii) plot y versus xm.
(iv) The resulting curve must be a straight line with a slope a and an intercept b (more correct value).
(v) By using this b repeat from step (ii).
