Organisations are appreciative to provide employees with a secure and healthful environment. Health is a normal state of mental, physical and emotional well being. Security is protection of a person's physical health. The major purpose of health and security policies is the safe interaction of person and the work environment. Weak working conditions affect employee performance badly. Employees might find it hard to concentrate on work. It might be too taxing for them to work for longer hours. Their health might suffer. Accidents & injuries may multiply causing vast financial loss to the company. Absence & turnover ratios might grow. A company having a poor safety record might find it hard to hire and retain skilled labour force. The total quality of work might suffer. Several deaths, injuries and illnesses take place because of poor equipment design, safety violations or gross negligence.
