Solution:   We need to calculate the current I₀ and the voltage V₀. The circuit may be redrawn like

            By applying KVL to mesh 1

                                                            2kI₁ +6k(I₁ - I₂ )= 1₂

                                                                    8kI₁ - 6kI₂ = 1₂

                                    By applying KVL at mesh 2

                                                  8kI₂ + 4kI₂ + 6k (I₂ - I₁) = 0

                                                                         18kI₂ - 6kI₁ = 0

By solving out equations of mesh 1 & mesh 2

                                                                     24kI₁ - 18kI₂ = 36

                                                                    -24kI₁ + 72kI₂ = 0

                                                                            54kI₂ = 36

                                                                        I₂ = 36/54k

                                                                        I₂= 0.67mA   ------------(1)      

                        V₀ will be equivalent to
