Basic Problems:
The two fundamental problems to be solved in kinetics may be stated below:
(i) The motion of a particle or a body or a system of bodies is totally known. It is needed to calculate the forces on them.
(ii) The forces acting on a particle, body or system of bodies are known. This is needed to determine wholly the resulting motion of the particle, body or system of bodies. After study of this unit we shall be able to tackle both these types of problems.
