Kinematics of a Particle : Along a Curved Path:

While the motion of a particle is along a path other than straight path, this is called curvilinear motion. The motion along with a curve path can be only rotational motion or can be motion of rotation along with motion on a straight path. In case of motion along with a straight path, velocity & acceleration of the particle is oriented along the path itself however in case of curvilinear motion velocity and acceleration shall not be along the path.
