Deactivation:
Once excited, the molecule could undergo a number of relaxation processes during the time it spends within the excited state. The deactivation processes could be widely categorized within two groups given below.
- Nonradiative deactivation
- Radiative deactivation
Nonradiative Deactivation
As the name suggests, these deactivation mechanisms are not accompanied through any radiative loss. There are three various nonradiative means of deactivation. These are elaborates in the following paragraphs.
