Investment Casting Steps:

• Production of heat disposable wax pattern. A plastic pattern or mercury (mould preparation to be undertaken at temperature below 38^oC) might also be utilized.
• Assembly of patterns in a gating system. This assembly involve pouring basin, ingate and sprue to the pattern. (In case of wax pattern and sprues and gate are made by melting).
• Covering or investing the assembly along ceramic to manufacture a monolithic bond.
• Heating of the invested assembly, leaving behind a precise mould cavity, resultant in burning of pattern material.
• Firing of the ceramic mould to build up the high temperature bond. Throughout this the ending traces of pattern material are also eliminated.
• Pouring of the molten metal into the mould under gravity to manufactured the cast part.
• Cut finish and get the final casting.
