What is PL/SQL:

PL/SQL is a block-structured language. The basic unit of PL/SQL is known as a BLOCK that holds declarative statements and executable statements, error handling statements. That blocks can be nested into one or more blocks.

Features of PL/SQL:

• It permits users to embed one or more SQL statements together and execute as a single SQL unit.
• It permits declaration of variables.
• It permits usage of conditional constructs
• It permits programming of error-handling using exceptions
• It permits row-by-Row processing of data using cursors
