Form Wizards
Forms builder gives a number of wizards for creating various objects on a form. A few of these wizards are:
Data Block Wizard:
The Data Block Wizard permits the creation of data blocks. A data block wizard displays a welcome dialog box and then asks for further information to create the data block. The information needs to create a data block will be Data Source. Like Table or Stored Procedure.
If Table is selected as a data source, the Field Names and the Table Name must be specified. As a data source if a Stored Procedure is selected and the Procedure Name must be specified then Data Block wizard then leads to a Layout wizard
Layout Wizard
The Layout Wizard works in conjunction with the Data Block wizard. It permits the layout of the data blocks objects to be designed. The Layout Wizard displays a welcome dialog box and then asks for information about the canvas which must be used in the layout. Canvas information required is canvas name and canvas type. A list of data blocks and the columns involved in the block are displayed. A exact canvas item must be bound to each table column selected.
Every item related with a table column and displayed on the form commonly involves a prompt label which provides information on the type of data to be loaded into the item. A prompt or label along with its height and width can be specified for each table column. The layout styles instance for, Form or Tabular is then specified. A Layout style determines how items will be arranged on the form.Items are grouped inside a frame. The frame number, title of records to be displayed and the distance among the records required to be given to the layout wizard.
The form layout is then created based on the information specified in the Layout wizard. The form so created so default form. That form could be run to perform data manipulation operations like as Insert, View, Update and Delete.
