The word is used to refer to a particular system of organisation of economic activities i.e. production, distribution, exchange and consumption of all things required to satisfy human wants. In this sense, we often speak of the Nigeiran economy or the Ghanian economy, developed or developing economy, capitalist, socialist or mixed economy.
