Representation of Engineering Materials

During engineering practice, there are different varieties of materials employed for manufacturing the various parts of a machine. Therefore it is, desirable that different conventions must be adopted to differentiate various materials for convenience upon the drawing. The conventions of materials, hence, save labor and time of drawing-work. The Indian Standard Institution has recommended the conventions for different kinds of materials, as displayed in diagram when these are sectioned.
