Image Scanners:
Drawings, graphs, colour and black-and-white photos, or text may be stored for computer processing along an image scanner by passing an optical scanning mechanism over the information to be stored. Then the gradations of gray scale or colour are recorded and stored in an array. Once we contain the internal representation of a picture to a specific screen area, we can also apply many image-processing methods to modify the array representation of the picture. For scanned text input, many editing operations may be performed on the stored documents. Some scanners are capable to scan either graphical representations or text, & they come in a variety of sizes and capabilities.
