These melting points could be used to construct a phase diagram the critical temperature of organic compounds could be determined through DTA if sealed sample holder is used. The determination is used of cooling curve; a discontinuity is experiential at the critical temperature T_c. Curie point temperature making a unexpected change at this point could also be determined through this technique. The specific heat increases gradually upon the Curie point e.g 357^oC for nickel, experiential simply through ploting dQ/dT or dT against temperature.
