Sensitivity Training
This is a method of altering behaviour through unstructured group interaction. Sensitivity training is sought to help particular toward better relations with others. The main focus is on dropping interpersonal friction.
In sensitivity training, the real technique employed is T-group (T stands for training). This is a small group having ten to twelve people assisted by a professional behavioural scientist who acts like a catalyst and trainer for the group. There is no particular agenda. He creates the chance for group members only to express their ideas & feelings freely. As the trainer has no leadership role to play, the group has to work out its own methods of proceeding. A leaderless & agendum- free group session is on. They may discuss anything they like. Individuals are permitted to focus on behaviour rather than on duties. As members engage in the dialogue, they encouraged to learn regarding themselves as they interact with others.
