Wastewater Reuse for Industry

Treated wastewater can also be used for industrial reasons, if appropriate industries are not far from the treatment plant. Industry's needs for water quality ranges hugely, from very pure water for boilers of electricity generation to lower water quality for cooling towers. Treated wastewater could fulfill the lower range of these needs, e.g. water for cooling towers. Secondary-treated wastewater after that chlorination might be adequate for this reason.
