Hazards:
The hazards and precautions listed within the previous theory on air compressors are applicable to hydraulic systems as well, since most of the hazards are related along with high pressure conditions. Some use of a pressurized medium could be dangerous. Hydraulic systems hold all the hazards of pressurized systems and special hazards which are associated straight to the composition of the fluid used.
While using oil as a fluid in a high pressure hydraulic system, a possibility of fire or an explosion exists. A severe fire hazard is produced while a break within the high pressure piping occurs and the oil is vaporized inside the atmosphere. Extra precautions against fire should be practiced within these areas.
If oil is pressurized through compressed air then an explosive hazard exists if the high pressure air comes into contact along with the oil, since it might create a diesel effect and subsequent explosion. The carefully followed preventive manages plan is the best precaution against explosion.
