SELECTION PROCESS
The selection procedure is a series of steps through which applicants pass.
1. Preliminary Reception: Selection begins with a visit to the HRM office or along a written request for an application. If an applicant appears in person, an unprepared preliminary interview can be granted as a courtesy, easily as a matter of good public relations.
2. Employment Tests: Employment tests are devices that consider the probable match among applicants and job requirements. However, while tests are used for these positions they frequently are a simulation of real-life situations.
- Test Validation: it should be valid for a test to be relied upon. Validity refers that the test scores have an important correlation to job performance or to some other related criterion.
- Testing Tools: There is a broad variety of employment tests. But each kind of test has only restricted usefulness. The exact reason of a test, its direction, its design for administration and its applications are recorded in the test manual that should be reviewed before a test is utilized.
