Modes of Transferring Heat
Heat is always transferred whenever a temperature difference exists among two bodies. There are three fundamental modes of heat transfer:
Conduction includes the transfer of heat by the interactions of atoms or molecules of a material via which the heat is being transferred.
Convection includes the transfer of heat by mixing and motion of macroscopic parts of a fluid.
Radiation, or radiant heat transfer, includes the transfer of heat by electromagnetic radiation which occurs due to the temperature of a body.
