Tool Handling System

This system transfers tools from the tool storage and support system to the individual tool magazines on every machine. One tool handling system can service various machines, depending upon the tool changeover requirements.

A common tool handling system uses an automated guided vehicle to transfer tools from the tool room to the tool magazines on every machine. An automatic tool handling system among the tool room and individual machines permits tools to be changed while the machines are running. This decreases setup time and increases machine utilization.
