Measurement of Hardenability
Two testing methods have been produced to measure the hardenability of steels. The first, known as cylinder series test, gives a single value of hardenability. The value is stated in terms of percentage of martensite at the centre while quenched in a certain manner. The second, known as Jominy & quench test results into a curve.
