MICLASS System
At first TNO of Holland built up MICLASS system and it is maintained in the United States by the Organization for Industrial Research. This is a chain-structured code of 12 digits. This includes both design and manufacturing information. Information such like the main shape, position of shape elements, shape elements, tolerance, ratio of dimensions, auxiliary dimension, main dimensions, and the machinability of the material is included. An additional 18 digits of code is also available for user-specified information (that means lot size, part function, major machining operation, etc). These supplementary digits provide flexibility expansion.
