Spring Controlled Centrifugal Governors:
In these governors springs are utilized to counteract the centrifugal force. They might be designed to operate at high speeds. Comparatively they are smaller in size. Their speed range may be changed by modifying the initial setting of the spring. They may work with inclined axis of rotation also. These governors might be very appropriate for IC engines, etc.
The most commonly utilized spring controlled centrifugal governors are following :
(a) Hartnell governor
(b) Wilson-Hartnell governor
(c) Hartung governor
