Oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells
The Oligodendrocytes in the CNS and Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system have the familiar function of providing the myelin sheath, is an electrically insulating covering around many axons. Those axons with a myelin sheath are known as to be myelinated, those without are known as unmyelinated.
