Non conventional sources of energy
The bulk production of power by thermal, hydel and nuclear plants are termed as the conventional techniques for generating electricity. Search for newer avenues for harness eco friendly electrical power has already started to meet the future challenges of meeting growing power demand. As compared to conventional techniques, the capacity in terms of MW of each non-conventional plant is instead low, though most of them are environment friendly and self sustainable. Wind power, MHD generation, solar power, fuel cell and power from tidal waves are some of the hopeful alternative sources of energy for the future.
