Power trucks:
Power trucks or Handtrucks used for transporting containers should have lifting parts, or clamps specially designed for which purpose. They should be enclosed in safety bottle carriers that avoid breakage if the bottle is struck or dropped if bottles must be transported in the plant or laboratory. All containers (especially acid) must be opened slowly and cautiously since of the probable buildup of pressure inside the container. Corrosives might be dispensed from drums through means of siphons, drum transfer pumps, or through gravity along with the use of a special fitting, like as a self-closing faucet. In no circumstances should bottles or drums be subjected to air pressure to expel contents.
One last, and very important, consideration is the category of container or receptacle into those corrosives is to be dispensed. The use of an inappropriate or makeshift receptacle could negate the value of all precautionary measures.
These receptacles might be used for temporary storage or merely as a means of transporting from storage area to place of use. Within any event, a suitable receptacle meets various conditions.
1. It is designed for the application.
2. It is used for no other reasons than that for that it is intended.
3. It is maintained in a clean, safe, and dry condition.
