Cylinders:

All drums should be stored on individual racks or securely blocked on skids, along with the closure (plug) up to avoid leakage. Drums hold corrosives in liquid form should be vented while received, and at least weekly thereafter, for relieve accumulated internal pressure.

Cylinders should be stored in an upright position and preferably within individual racks and along with the valve protective cap in place.  Within all cases, to prevent error, empty and full holds should be stored in different locations.

Under no condition should corrosives be transferred from the real labeled container to an unmarked container.  Whole containers must be labeled concisely, clearly, and in easy, simply understood terms.  Inspection of containers before handling will disclose conditions like as leakage, breakage, and improperly positioned closures that could readily cause a spill or leak.
