Interference in Involute Gears:
There are four kinds of teeth that have been standardised for interchange ability as illustrated in Figures (a), (b), (c) and (d). Each of these four teeth systems is conjugate to the basic rack.
(a) 20o Full Depth Teeth
(b) 20o Full Depth Teeth
(c) 20o Stub Teeth
(d) 14.5o Composite Teeth
Standard Teeth
Figure (a) illustrates full depth involutes teeth in which addendum is one module and dedendum is given as 1.15 m. The working depth is '2 m'. Figure (b) illustrates 14 ½ o full depth teeth in which just pressure angle is different and other parameters are similar.
Figure (c) illustrates 20o stub teeth in which addendum is equal to 0.6 m. The dedendum is equal to 1.2 m and the working depth is given as 1.6 for these teeth. Figure (d) illustrates composite system of teeth. In these teeth, they are built up of circular arcs at the top & bottom. The middle part of the teeth is a straight line. The straight portion equivalents to the involutes section whiles the top and bottom corresponding to the cycloidal section.
