Requirements for Formwork:
The following are the requirements for formwork:
(a) The forms should have enough strength to support the loads.
(b) The sheeting should be rigid and durable.
(c) The sheeting should be thick sufficient to withstand the pressures of wet concrete.
(d) The elements of forms should be large enough to carry the loads and forces without buckling.
(e) The formwork should be of reasonable size and weight for simple handling, erection and transportation.
(f) The formwork should be simply and speedily erected.
(g) The form surface should provide a smooth finishing.
(h) The joints of the form shall be tight enough to avoid any material leakage.
